This church was established to serve the Prot French- speaking expatriates of different countries and backgrounds (including Presb, Ref, Meth, and Bapt). It has been strongly supported by the Société des Missions Evangéliques de Paris (Paris Mission Society), which provided the needed pastors. After independence, this church grew by inclusion of indigenous Prot. Today it relies almost exclusively on Central African per-sonnel. Its Prot Youth Center has become, since its inception in 1968, a vital feature of the local public scene as a meeting place for various associations, for the school and university chaplaincy, for Bible camps, and for major socio cultural events.
