In 1898 Mr. John Sheriff, together with an assistant, F. Hadfield, was sent from New Zealand to undertake the organization of the Churches of Christ in Zimbabwe. The mission had to cope with great financial difficulties. As the situation improved, the work extended to other parts of the country. Headquarters were eventually transferred from Bulawayo to Dadaya in the Lundi Reserve. In 1919 medical work was started at the Dadaya mission station.
