This church was organized in 1977 by persons leaving the Bible Presbyterian Church, when the Bible Presb, under the influence of Carl McIntire, dissolved the BPC Philadelphia Presbytery. Three congregations reestablished themselves as the American Presbyterian Church. These churches sing psalms only and organize membership by families. They demand that their members abstain from alcohol. The church has a quarterly newsletter,Katartizo,aimed at making contact with other small Presb groups. They are seeking others with whom to relate.
