The Korean American Presbyterian Church was formed in 1978 from five independent presbyteries of Korean-immigrant churches. Founded on the campus of Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia, the KAPC considers itself a conservative, doctrinally sound Presb church. In 1996 the church had 19 presbyteries, including somein Canada, Russia, and Europe. The church supports 20 missionaries in other countries. In 1983 the church joined the National Association of Presb and Ref Churches (NAPARC). It has also established its own seminary in California and accepts ministers from other conservative Ref seminaries after examination.
