The Protestant Theological Institute is the only institute that trains protestant pastors in Romania, in two towns (in Cluj - Napoca in Hungarian, and in Sibiu in German). Both have the same leading council: the Senate.

The institute's examen consists of:
an interview, written test in Old and New Testament, oral examination in Heidelberg Catechism or Unitarian Catechism or Luther's Small Catechism, examination in religious hymns, examination in one of the international languages, Hungarian literature test.
