The church separated in 1967 from the Presbyterian Community in Congo (cf. no. 1). The split was primarily due to ethnic tensions. It has its roots in one of the most dynamic regions of the country. Unfortunately the church suffers from internal strife. The church belongs to ARCK and WARC but has no other international relations. A segment of the church functions separately, having obtained a provisional recognition from the government, but it has not been recognized by either ARCK or WARC.
