This church has its historical roots in the Church of Scotland. It was established in 1829 primarily to give spiritual assistance to the Scots people who had come to Argentina. Evangelistic work in Spanish started only 13 years ago. As the Church of Scotland withdrew its support, the church sought contacts with the Reformed Church of Argentina and receives, at present, support from the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in the USA of which it is the Argentine presby (cf. United States). The church is engaged in evangelistic-social work in Villa Paranacito in the periphery of Buenos Aires.
