This Church was founded in Concordia in 1922 when, after the Russian revolution, German congr from the Volga region immigrated to Argentina. Since they could not adjust themselves to the model of the Lutheran Church in the region, they asked the Congregationalist Churches in the USA (cf. United States no. 12) to provide assistance. They received some help from the itinerant pastor Jorge Geir. The first member of the church to be ordained was Carlos Holzer. In 1940 a seminary was founded in Concordia by pastor Otto Tiede.
