A presbytery was organized in 1965 under the auspices of Professor John Murray of Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia). The two original congregations had been formed 80 years before by Scottish and Irish immigrants to Canada. The presbytery’s constitution, composed by Prof. Murray, preserves the simplicity and purity of the worship set forth in the Westminster Directory of Public Worship, and practiced in the founding congregations. This includes canonical psalmody without musical instruments. The presbytery has congregations in Ontario, Rhode Island, Maryland, Iowa, and Oregon.
