In Wales the Meth revival of the 18th century followed Presb patterns, and the converts were organized as a genuinely Presb body. The first services in Welsh were held in Melbourne in 1852, and a Welsh minister arrived in 1857. In the period of the gold rush work flourished, but today only two congr are left — in Melbourne and in Sebastopol (near Ballarat). Initially all services were in Welsh, but prior to the turn of the century English services were introduced to meet the needs of the first generation Welsh Australians.
