In 1990 a new Presb church came into existence. Various issues, among them the question of women’s ordination, led to conflicts within the IEBP (cf. no. 1). Under the leadership of José J. Barrau one of the congr dissociated itself from the IEPB and constituted itself as an independent church. It sought to relate more constructively to the Bolivian context.
