In 1988 a Brazilian missionary, Jo?o Carlos de Paula Mota, sent by the Presbyterian Church of Brazil (cf. Brazil), started to evangelize in Cochabamba. Later, more Brazilian pastors arrived to strengthen the work. Though Cochabamba remained the center of activities, the work extended to other cities as well. The church seeks recognition as a juridical entity by the authorities. Among its goals are the acquisition of land for church buildings and the training of national leaders to consolidate church life. The church runs a dental clinic and offers relief work.
