This church is the result of a tension within DokNoHoe I (cf. no. 8). Two groups under the leadership of Chung Dae-Shin and Kim Chang-Gil opposed one another within DokNoHoe I. Kim Chang-Gil, leader of DongA Seminary, in 1972 formed the Presbyterian Church in Korea (BoSu or DongShin). For four years he acted as moderator of this church. The church grew. But it suffered further divisions. While Kim Chang-Gil, Lee Hong-Pyun, and Bang Boo-Shin continued with DongShin, Cho Chang-Hyun and Choi Han Yong formed BoSu I (cf. no. 11). The issue at stake was leadership prerogatives. Later Bang Boo- Shin also seceded from DongShin and founded GaeHyukJeongTong, a small denomination which continues to exist in Seoul.
