The denomination was founded in 1983 by Pastors Yum Haeng-Soo and Hwang Oh-Gyu.The reason for this initiative was the conviction that the Korean churches were bowing to mammonism, secularism, and syncretism and had to return to the fundamental spirit of the Bible. Yum Haeng-Soo was originally a fundamentalist who had graduated from Bob Jones Seminary. Emerging doubts about dispensationalism caused him to turn to Ref theology and to begin to promote a form of fundamentalist Ref theology.
