Reformed Churches in Namibia
P.O. Box 20004
Potchefstroom
2522 South Africa Namibia (Afrika) AdressNr.: 13242 / 1120
The Reformed people who formed this church came to Namibia in 1929 from Angola. The “Dorslandtrekkers” from the Transvaal (South Africa) — most of them Reformed — lived as farmers in Angola for half a century before they moved to Namibia. In 1930 three congr were established in their new country. Later, more came from South Africa as government employees. Missionary work was started in 1969 under the Bushman of the Gobabis region in Botswana (see Botswana). A Bible translation in the Gobabis-Kung language by Pastor P. J. W. S. van der Westhuizen is close to completion.
