This church was founded by American missionaries (World Harvest Mission) working with Ugandan Christians in 1986 in the area of Fort Portal and in 1992 in Bundibugyo. Today the church reports growing church planting in western Uganda and across the Congolese border. It claims to be one of the churches spearheading efforts to form a united national Ugandan Presb denomination.
