This church came into existence in December 1986 and was registered with the Uganda government in 1987. The church was closely connected with the Brainard Presbyterian Church in Tennessee. In its first years the church grew quickly, but after a few years it suffered a split which reduced the membership to 32 adults. The church soon regained strength. Today there are four congregations in the area of Kampala, in the Kasanda in Mubende District, in Kakubo in Mpigi District, and in Buwaya on the island of Lake Victoria.
