The history of the church in the Donggala region is similar to that in Buol Toli-Toli (cf. (cf. no. 31) and Gorontalo (cf. no. 33). However, the outreach to the indigenous inhabitants of the region was more successful here than in the neighboring regions. On April 7, 1965, the church became independent. It has three orphanages and a small number of schools (nursery and secondary). It has no magazine of its own. It considers financial and economic weakness as one of the main problems it faces. The GPID considers April 7, 1965, as its birth date.
