This church resulted from a split within KoShin (no. 1). Due to tensions at KoRyu Seminary (cf. above) Professor Park Yun-Sun moved to Seoul and there founded the Reformed Theological Seminary. Many students of KoRyu Seminary followed him. To avoid division Park returned to KoShin, but Pastor Chung Hun-Taek took over as director of the Reformed Theological Seminary at DongSan Church in Seoul. In 1965 about 50 pastors related to this seminary founded KoRyuPa. KoRyuPa has entertained relations with conservative Ref churches in Japan, the Netherlands, and the USA. The church has often been accused of being heretical because of the similarity of its name with the heretical group DongBang (= Eastern Direction). Since 1977 the leading figure of the church has been Yoo Don-Sik, who who also directs the Reformed Theological Seminary.
