The NGPMB ’53 was established in 1975. The driving force was a group of people who did not originate from the Moluccans but from Irian Jaya, the former Dutch New Guinea. They did not feel at home in the Moluccan “other church” which was established in 1953 (cf. no.13).The NGPMB ’53 is the third largest Moluccan Prot Church in the Netherlands. It has fewer relations with other churches, both in the Netherlands and in Indonesia, than the preceding two Moluccan churches (cf. nos. 12-13).
