In 1907 a few independent congregations accepted the invitation of Pastor G. H. Kersten to consider a union of (old) Reformed congregations, but finally they decided to stay apart. They established their own even more conservative church — the OGG. Pastor L. Boone (1860-1935) was its leader. He disagreed with Pastor Kersten because the latter was willing to adopt the name “Reformed” instead of “Old Reformed,” to replace the psalmbook of Petrus Dathenus (1531-1588) with that of 1773, and to change the dress code of ministers. After World War II some congregations separated from the OGG but others joined it. In 1948 the church united with the Federation of Old Reformed Congregations (Federatie van Oud Gereformeerde Gemeenten), a small group of congregations founded in 1912. In 1952 some congregations of the CGKN (cf. no. 3) also joined the church. The church has no theological seminary. It has one congregation in Salford, Canada. In missions it collaborates with the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland.
