 The continuation of the Free Church of Scotland of 1843 (when the Evangelicals split from the moderate to form the Free Church of Scotland) and of 1900 (when the constitutionalists continued the FCS after the majority left to unite with the United Presbyterian Church). The Free Church of Scotland (continuing) is itself the result of a division in January 2000 when an unconstitutional majority in the FCS purportedly removed over 20 constitutionalist ministers from office.

The FCS (C) is a member of the British Evangelical Council.
