 This church was founded in 1846 by three ministers and an elder who withdrew from the Synod of Australia in connection with the Established Church of Scotland. While part of the membership returned in 1865 to the mainstream Presb church, a minority continued as a separate church. The church is a free church strictly adhering to Presb standards of faith.
