Information about Slovakia

Up to World War I the present territory of Slovakia belonged to the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. In 1918, through the Trianon Treaty, it became part of newly formed Czechoslovakia. In 1993 Czechoslovakia was divided into two independent states — the Czech and the Slovak Republics.
